WELCOME
TO OUR CAMPAIGN WEBSITE! I appreciate your interest in my candidacy for
Commissioner of Agriculture of West Virginia. To tell you a little
about myself - I was born and raised in Lost River, WV in Hardy County
located in the eastern panhandle, was educated in The Hardy County
public school system, and received a degree in Business Administration
from Kemper Military Academy in Booneville, Missouri.
I have been happily
married for 35 years to Joyce Godlove Teets and we have raised two
children. Dr. Tina Teets-Walker, a veterinarian who came back to West
Virginia to open and practice at The Lost River Animal Hospital and
our son Matthew is a partner with me, running our farming operation of
550 head cow-calf and four turkey houses. We have three grandsons.
I served on the Hardy
County Commission for 14 years and was instrumental in organizing the
Farm Preservation Board for Hardy County. I have been involved with
the Hardy County Rural Development Authority for 16 years and
currently serve as Vice President. I am a member of the West Virginia
Poultry Association, The West Virginia Farm Bureau, American Shorthorn
Association, American Maine-Anjou Association, American Angus
Association, West Virginia Cattleman's Association, American Quarter
Horse Association, the AF & AM Number 29 Lodge, and attend Believers
Victory Center.
"I
know Mike Teets personally, I know his background, and he is
from a very strong agricultural part of the state. He
understands farm issues and he understands, even more
importantly, the connection between life on the farm and the
production of food in West Virginia."
Cleve Benedict -- Former West Virginia Commissioner of
Agriculture
In the months ahead, I
will be working hard and traveling throughout West Virginia to meet
and speak with voters about their concerns, ideas, and recommendations
on issues relative to the office of the Commissioner of Agriculture.
"The
public needs to know what a candidate wants to do once he or she
takes office. I feel it is extremely important to let voters
know what they can expect once I am elected.”

All across West Virginia
voters are realizing the great need for change to the
Commissioner of Agriculture’s office. Members of both Republican
AND Democratic Parties know the time is now!!
For Example...
“The current administration desperately needs a change from top
to bottom. The overall view of the department is not good. I
personally feel Mike Teets can bring the experience needed to
this office so there will be more opportunities for people who
want to come to West Virginia and work in the agricultural
business.”
